Slovenia is a country in southern Central Europe bordering Italy to the west, the Adriatic Sea to the southwest, Croatia to the south and east, Hungary to the northeast and Austria to the North.
The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, is a lively Central European city lying in a basin at the confluence of the Sava and Ljubljanica rivers, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Ljubljana is situated in the heart of Slovenia, 298 metres above sea level.

How to get to LJUBLJANA?

How to get to the Jožef Stefan Institute by local transportation?

In Ljubljana the local transportation is performed by busses (Ljubljanski potniški promet). The fee is paid at the bus front door entrance either in cash (1.00 EUR, no money return) or with tokens that can be purchased in tobacco shops and post offices (0.80 EUR). You can also buy the Ljubljana Tourist Card which costs 12.52 EUR and is valid 72 hours. With this card you have free access to all local buses, free bike-renting, free entrance to some museums, and many other discounts.

There is a bus stop in front of the main bus station. Take the bus No. 9, direction Trnovo, get off at the second bus stop (in front of the book store) and change to the line No. 1 (direction Mestni log) or 6 (direction Dolgi most)/6B (direction Brezovica). We recommend to take bus No. 1, as it stops right in front of the side entrance to the Jožef Stefan Institute on Jadranska cesta (get off at 5th bus stop). The bus No.6 stops (5th bus stop) on Tržaška cesta about 5 minutes walking distance from the Institute (cross the main street at traffic lights and walk along Jadranska cesta).
